As of Noon, Friday, May 14, Russell County has had 862 total positive cases of COVID-19 since tracking began, with no new cases since May 12, according to the Russell County Health Department.

The current active and in isolation case count is three with 836 recovered cases, 60 hospitalizations with no current hospitalizations, 23 deaths and five in quarantine.

The cumulative positivity rate for this week is 22.2 percent. The cumulative positivity rate for May is 11.1 percent.

CDC updated their mask guidance. They state that people who are fully vaccinated (completed the series) against COVID-19 can forgo their masks and social distancing in many indoor situations. This means anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing. If you are vaccinated and develop symptoms, mask up and get tested.
