Dr. Andrew Dempewolf Named New 7-12 Assistant Principal

Dr. Andrew Dempewolf has been named the new 7-12 Assistant Principal at Russell High School for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Russell County USD 407 Board of Education approved the hire Monday evening. It's a two-year contract.

Dempewolf currently serves as the Principal at Bickerdyke Elementary School in Russell.

Before serving as Bickerdyke Principal, he taught fifth grade at Bickerdyke.

USD 407 Superintendent Jordan Perez speaks highly of Dempewolf.

The 7-12 Assistant Principal position was created following the Board's decision to move seventh and eighth grades to the high school building and sixth grade to Bickerdyke starting this fall.

Also Monday, the Board of Education approved new two-year contracts for Simpson Elementary School Principal Katie Revell, Russell High School Principal Dallas Woolf and RHS Activities Director Andrew Stueve.

Several other resignations, new contracts and contract modifications were also approved Monday by the Board at its meeting - including the resignations of vocal music teacher Michael Davidson, agriculture teacher and FFA sponsor Allison Railsback, physical education teacher and coach Chris VanKooten, and elementary counselor Miranda Nunez.
