It's Graduation Weekend in Russell Area

It's not only Mother's Day weekend, it's also graduation weekend for Russell and several area high schools.

Russell will host its commencement ceremony on Saturday morning at 10 AM. Around 45 seniors will receive their diploma inside Amos Morris Gymnasium. 

Russell Junior-Senior High School Principal Dr. Andrew Dempewolf says this is a special senior class to him.

On Friday morning, RJSHS seniors will be recognized during a special awards and scholarship ceremony.

Other area graduation ceremonies this weekend include Sylvan-Lucas on Saturday at 2 PM. 28 seniors will walk across the stage in Sylvan Grove. In Victoria, 22 seniors will receive their diploma on Sunday at 1 PM. Natoma and Central Plains will hold their graduation ceremonies next weekend. Natoma on May 16 at 10 AM and Central Plains on May 17 at 2 PM.

Barton Community College will hold their spring graduation on Friday, May 15 at 7 PM at the Barton Gymnasium and Fort Hays State University will hold their commencement ceremonies on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16 at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
