Lincoln Woman Injured in Semi Versus SUV Crash in Ellis County

A Lincoln woman was injured in a semi versus SUV crash Friday morning on Interstate 70 in Ellis County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at 8:30 AM Friday, a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by 22-year-old Terri Lynn Clark Giersch of Lincoln and a 2019 Peterbilt semi truck driven by 54-year-old William Richard Jacobs of Hays were eastbound on I-70 at mile marker 164 five miles east of Hays.

The Explorer was passing the semi when it lost control and spun out in front of the semi. The semi struck the Explorer and the Explorer spun out into the ditch.

Giersch was transported to Hays Medical Center.

Jacobs was not injured.

Both were buckled up at the time of the crash.
