March 3 Special Election Results are in, USD 407 Bond Does Not Pass

Registered voters took to the polls on Tuesday, March 3, to vote to potentially pass the Russell County USD 407 $13.5 million Bond.

According to County Clerk and Elections Officer Kristi Whitman, 1,541 of 3,818 registered voters, about 40.36%, submitted a ballot. 

There was only one question on the ballot, which pertained to the Russell County USD 407 $13.5 million bond. Unofficial results show 1,000 votes for NO and 540 votes for YES (65% to 35%).

The Russell County Commissioners will canvass the results on Monday, March 16 at 10 am, and they will release the official results afterwards.
