Ohio Man Dies in Crash in Eastern Russell County

An Ohio man died in a two vehicle crash along Interstate 70 in eastern Russell County on Thursday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle was stopped along the shoulder, entered the roadway and was struck in the westbound lane by a 2023 Hyundai Sonata.

72-year-old Richard J. Rockwell of Warren, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the Hyundai, 33-year-old Zane Daniel Foster of Topeka, Kansas, was not injured. Two other adults and one child were in the vehicle and uninjured.

The crash happened at 10:46 AM three miles west of the Wilson K232 Exit.
