Russell City Council Hears Request for Interest Response for 830 North Main
The Russell City Council met Tuesday and heard a Request for Interest response presentation regarding the building at 830 North Main Street.
In recent years, the building was condemned and cleaned out due to unsafe conditions. Demolition even began before it was determined the building shared a roof structure with adjacent buildings. Once that was discovered, the building was repaired and made safe.
Currently, the City of Russell owns the building, but recently sent out a Request for Interest for the property.
Russell Development, Inc., Russell PRIDE, Inc. and Russell Main Street, Inc. partnered together to submit a proposal for use of the property.
The envisioned use for the property is a maker space facility, which can be used to develop new entrepreneurs through refinement of ideas into proof-of-concept models and which can thereby help incubate local business.
Andrea Krauss with Russell Development, Inc. explained.
No action was taken yet. The project is in its infancy.
