Russell County Commissioners Pass Resolution to Opt Back Into Governor's Executive Order Requiring Face Masks in Russell County
The Russell County Commissioners met Friday and passed a resolution to opt back into Governor Laura Kelly's Executive Order 20-52 requiring the use of face masks in Russell County.
The Governor issued EO 20-52 on July 2 and the Russell County Commissioners exempted Russell County from the order on July 6, issuing a local order relating to public health that included provisions that were less stringent.
The resolution approved Friday is a public health order that rescinds the July 6 order, immediately enacts the Governor's July order and states the Commissioners will review the matter on December 21.
Russell County Administrator John Fletcher...
It is just about masks and public health Fletcher said.
The resolution passed two to one with Commissioners Steve Reinhardt and Aaron Steinert voting in favor and Commissioner Don Boxberger voting no.
