Russell County Sheriff's Office PSA: Scam Calls

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office has received reports from citizens regarding scam calls. In these calls, the caller has pretended to be an employee of the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. In some instances, the scammers claim there is a warrant and/or a subpoena for them. Do not fall victim to these scams.

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office will never contact individuals via phone regarding arrests, warrants and jury duty. Nor will the Sheriff’s Office request money or additional personal information via telephone. The Russell County Sheriff’s Office will never ask for Venmo, cash app, gift cards or other financial information.
