Russell Experiences Brief Power Outage

Portions of the City of Russell lost electricity Monday morning for about 20 minutes.

Russell City Manager Jon Quinday told KRSL News the outage was due to a loss from the south electrical tie from Sunflower Electric.

Crews immediately began looking for the fault and then tied into the north tie.

It was not a citywide outage, but numerous areas were affected.

The fault was the failure of a synchronizing potential transformer said Quinday. It was replaced and service was fully restored.
