Sanitation Routes Altered for the Holiday, Public Transit Not Operating

City of Russell offices and the public transportation bus will be closed Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Sanitation routes usually serviced on Thursday and Friday will be serviced the following Monday or Tuesday. Heavy volumes of trash will be expected on Monday and Tuesday. Please make sure your polycarts are out by 8 AM, considering the sanitation trucks have no set time for pickup throughout the day.

The recycling trailers, located at 236 East 9th Street, continue to be available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Recyclable items that can be placed in the trailer include glass, aluminum, tin and plastics #1 through #7. Please make sure these items are rinsed and placed in the appropriate bin. No trash will be accepted.

Paper, magazines and cardboard will only be accepted at the Recycling Center at 337 East 9th Street during regular business hours.
