Saturday's Storm Brings 7" of Snow to Russell Area
Russell County along with much of central and western Kansas received significant snowfall on Saturday.
Officially, Russell had seven inches of snow. Four inches was reported in eastern Russell County. Heavier totals were recorded further west. Hays had eight and a half inches, Scott City 10 and Oakley recorded 11 inches.
Interstate 70 was closed for a time on Saturday from Hays west to the Colorado-Kansas state line.
A dry weather pattern will return to the Russell area and western Kansas over the next 10 days with daytime highs in the 30s and 40s and overline lows in the teens and 20s.
