The National Weather Service has set Severe Weather Awareness Week for this week, March 2-6, which also includes the statewide tornado drill.

Every year, the NWS sets a date for a statewide tornado drill, and this year it has been set for Wednesday, March 4 at 10 am. The test will be just like the last few years, where it will sound through NOAA weather radio, but not through phones.

The NWS has also provided a tornado packet, which includes a plethora of information, including tornado counts around the state from 2025, number of tornadoes by decade, and other interesting or helpful information. You can find the packet linked below.

Also, don't forget about the Storm Fury on the Plains Presentation and Storm Spotter Meeting on March 10 in Russell at the Dream Theatre. You can find more information on that presentation HERE.
