Three-Car Crash in Saline County Leaves Russell Woman Injured
In the early afternoon on Sunday, March 1, three vehicles were involved in a crash on I-70 highway near Salina, leaving one Russell woman with possible injuries.
Around 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 1, a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 32-year-old Sara Kay Wellbrock of Russell, Kansas, was merging onto Westbound I70 from the Northbound I135 on ramp. Now headed Westbound on I70, Wellbrock lost control of the vehicle and was struck by a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by 19-year-old Mason Edward Smith of Minneapolis, Kansas, who was then also rear-ended by a 2008 Ford F350, driven by 24-year-old Michael Alan Rider of Malvern, Arkansas.
Neither Smith nor Rider were injured in the accident. Wellbrock was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with a possible injury. Everyone was wearing a safety restraint.
