Thunderstorm Hits Russell with 85 MPH Wind Gust

A severe thunderstorm with a recorded wind gust of 85 miles per hour passed through Russell Sunday night.

The 85 mph wind gust was recorded at the Russell Municipal Airport at around 10:30 PM.

The storm brought down several tree branches around town and isolated power outages were reported.

The KRSL Studios in Russell received 1.03 of rainfall. Some areas in northern Russell County received more than two inches of rain.
