Two Arrested in Hoisington for Drugs
On November 6 at about 10 AM, Barton County Sheriff's deputies and detectives executed a search warrant at 414 North Elm Street in the city of Hoisington.
According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, the Barton County Sheriff's Office was looking for 65-year-old Richard Kerns who is a registered drug offender from Russell County and failed to notify Barton County officials he was living there.
Upon entry into the residence, deputies located Kerns and placed him under arrest.
During the course of the incident, detectives discovered suspected methamphetamine inside the house.
Also arrested at the scene was 66-year-old Beverly Driscoll of Hoisington.
Both Driscoll and Kerns are being held on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine.
Kerns is also charged with failing to register as a drug offender in the local jurisdiction.
Both are being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
The Barton County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by members of the Hoisington Police Department.
