Victoria and Sylvan-Lucas met in 8-Man Div. II Playoffs on Nov. 6, 2020.

VICTORIA-Jayvon Pruitt rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns and added a receiving score as the Victoria Knights took control early and defeated District 5 rival Sylvan-Lucas 50-0 in 8-Man Division ll Regional action Friday evening.

The third-ranked Knights who defeated Sylvan-Lucas 52-22 on September 25, got on the scoreboard just over two minutes into the contest when Quarterback Grant Schoenrock scampered 36 yards for a touchdown making the score 6-0 after the conversion failed.  Pruitt made the score 14-0 after a successful conversion with his first touchdown of the night from two yards out.

Victoria then scored their next two touchdowns in a 13-second span. After Schoenrock connected with Pruitt for a 20-yard touchdown pass, Geriun Boor of Sylvan-Lucas was stripped of the ball by Schoenrock on the ensuing kickoff return and Schoenrock was in the end zone 43 yards later making the score 26-0 Knights after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Pruitt scored two more touchdowns on runs of 21 and 65 yards and Schoenrock added a two-yard plunge to provide the final margin of 50-0.  Sylvan-Lucas had a chance to extend the game into the third quarter but Quarterback Jaxson Heenan was picked off in the end zone as time expired and the game concluded at halftime.

After Sylvan-Lucas (7-3) rushed for more than 400 yards in last week's win at South Barber, the Knights defense held them to 26 yards on the ground and forced four turnovers.  Victoria amassed 285 yards of total offense, 232 on the ground.  The Mustangs fall in the Regionals for the fourth consecutive year, losing Otis-Bison in 2017 and with losses to Osborne in 2018 and 2019.

Victoria (10-0) advances to the Sectional round for the first time since their most recent state championship run in 2015 and they will take to the road next Friday to face Wheatland-Grinnell which upset South Central Friday night 36-26. Friday's game will be broadcast on KRSL 95.9 and streamed on KRSL.com.
