Area Players Set for 8-Man Football All-Star Games

Several area schools are well represented at the 41st Annual Eight-Man All-Star Football games set for Saturday, June 13 at Trojan Stadium in Beloit.

The Division l game will kick off at 10 a.m. with the Division ll game slated to start at around 1:30 p.m.

Colby Hamel, who guided Lincoln to its first-ever 8-Man Division l State Championship Game appearance last Fall, will serve as head coach of the East All-Stars in the Division l game.  Joining Hamel will be some of his players including Kolton Meyer, Easton Good and Brody Shearer.  Austin Ahring was also invited to play in the game but he will not take part.  Other area players on the East squad include Landon Daniels and Rylan Siemsen of Central Plains along with Vance Dohl and Carter Johnson from Sylvan-Lucas.

Four players from Victoria, which was runner-up for the second consecutive year in 8-Man Division ll are taking part for the West squad in the D-ll contest, including Wes Dreiling, Kyle Huser, Matt Pfeifer and Cody Schmidtberger.

A week of various activities will lead up to the games on June 13.
