Area Roundup: Victoria Headed to State
Victoria is headed to the Class 1A Division I State Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Knights qualified after winning the Sylvan-Lucas Sub-State on Saturday, Oct. 23. After getting a first round bye, top-seeded Victoria beat Lincoln in two (25-12, 25-16) in the semifinals and then took down Ness City in three (25-19, 23-25, 25-10) in the championship. The Lady Knights will take a 29-5 record to the 1A Division I State Tournament in Dodge City.
After getting a first round bye, Sylvan-Lucas fell to Ness City in two (25-21, 25-16). The Lady Mustangs finish the season with a 28-10 record.
Natoma and Wilson were both in the Central Plains 1A Division II Sub-State in Claflin. Wilson beat Chase in three (22-25, 25-15, 25-16) in the first round before losing to Central Plains in two (25-13, 25-10) in the semifinals. The Lady Dragons end with a 5-30 mark. Natoma fell to Otis-Bison in two (25-7, 25-21) in the first round and finish with a 2-30 record.
