Bronco Runners Compete in Trego Invite

The Russell High School cross country team competed in the Trego Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 16 in WaKeeney.

Tyler Lampert ran in the boys varsity race and finished just outside of the medalists with a time of 24:38.

In the boys junior varsity race, Marcus Koetkemeyer took fourth place with a 26:12. Freshman Sam Whitten ran in his first race of the season and took fifth with a time of 26:20. Hunter Throop also ran in his first race and had a time of 28:45.

Camille Dortland was unable to compete in the girls varsity race after suffering an injury earlier in the week.

Next up for Russell is the Southeast of Saline Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
