Broncos Capture Russell Invitational, Mooney Victorious

Playing on their home course for the only time this season, the Russell Broncos Boys Golf team made the most of it by winning the Russell Invitational on Thursday at the Russell Municipal Golf Course.

The Broncos outpaced second place Phillipsburg by 18 strokes, posting a team score of 341 on the day.

Senior golfer Jake Mooney won his third tournament this season turning in a one over par 73, finishing one stroke ahead of Phillipsburg's Mason Laurin.  Solomon Moreland of Russell also medaled with a third place finish, showing an 11 over par 83 on his scorecard.

Braxton Parsons - 20th with a 24 over par 96
Slayde Nuss - 23rd with a 26 over par 98
Peyton Gibson - 28th with a 29 over par 101
Aidyn Wiggins - T-34th with a 33 over par 105
Xzephren Donner - T-34th with a 33 over par 105

The Russell Golfers will conclude regular season competition on Thursday, May 7 at the Ellsworth Invitational.  Tee time is set for 3 p.m.
