Game 1: Russell-Victoria 12, Southeast of Saline 1
Game 2: Russell-Victoria 15, Southeast of Saline 4

The Russell-Victoria Broncos Baseball team capped off the 2023 regular season in resounding fashion on Thursday as they swept a doubleheader from longtime nemesis Southeast of Saline by scores of 12-1 and 15-4 in Gypsum.

Jackson Cross tossed a complete game in the opener as the Bronocos broke open the game late.  Cameron Farmer matched Cross with a complete gem of his own in Game 2 which lasted just five innings due to the run rule.

Offensively, Cross powered the Broncos with a home run in each contest.

Russell-Victoria (19-1) knocked off the Trojans for the first time in several years and finished its best regular season in at least 15 years.

The Broncos have virtually locked up the number one seed in the upcoming Class 3A Goodland Regional.  Their next game will be in the first round on Monday, May 15 in Goodland most likely either against Lakin or Cimarron/Ingalls.  The semifinals and championship game will be held on Tuesday, May 16 also in Goodland.

The winner of the Goodland Regional advances to the Class 3A State Tournament to be held May 25 and 26 at Tointon Family Stadium on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan.
