Former Lady Bronco Sets Newman University Scoring Record
Former Russell Lady Bronco basketball standout Tiffany Dortland set a Newman University record on Saturday scoring 27 points in her debut as a Jet.
It was the most points ever scored in a debut game for the Newman women's basketball team.
Dortland, a junior, played two years at Barton Community College after averaging 21 points per game as a senior at Russell High School in the 2018-2019 season.
Despite Dortland's performance Saturday in Wichita, Newman lost 72-65 to Wayne State.
Tiffany's father, Darrell Dortland, is in his first year as Head Coach for the Russell Lady Broncos this season. Tiffany's younger sister, Camille, is a senior on the RHS team.
