Four Mustangs Receive All-NPL Football Honors

The Northern Plains League has announced the 2022 all-league Football honorees and four members of  the Sylvan-Lucas Football team made the list.

Senior Valden Dohl made the first team at Wide Receiver/Tight end while Junior Lane Homewood made the first team at Defensive Back.  Brody Batchman made the second team at the Linebacker position while Dohl, Homewood and Matthew Lawson were named Honorable Mention.

Homewood was Honorable Mention at Quarterback, Lawson on the Offensive Line and Dohl was recognized for his work as a Defensive Back.

Sylvan-Lucas, coached by Ben Labertew went 7-3 during the 2022 season and qualified for the playoffs as the #2 seed out of 8-Man Division ll District 5.  Two of their losses were to Victoria which reached the State Quarterfinals and Dighton which lost to Thunder Ridge in the Sub-State Championship game.

Thunder Ridge from the Northern Plains League made it to the 8-Man Division ll State Title game before falling last Saturday to Axtell 76-28.
