K-18 Baseball Clobbers Lincoln, Advances to Regional Final
Levi Wellbrock hit an inside the park grand slam home run and Mason Rohr pitched five strong innings as the Russell K-18 Baseball team dominated Lincoln 16-5 Thursday evening in the K-18 East Regional semifinals at Lee Doyen Field in Concordia.
Rohr's effort gave him the win with Max Evans finishing off the game's final two innings.
With the victory, Russell (7-6) advances to the Regional Championship game on Friday evening against the Clay Center Amateur Baseball Association Tigers who were 7-1 winners over Clifton-Clyde in Thursday's first semifinal game.
Clifton-Clyde and Lincoln will square off for third place at 6:30 p.m. before Russell and Clay Center tangle for the title approximately 25 minutes after the completion of the third place game.
