K-18 Baseball Drops Two, Regionals Next

#3 Beloit Red 9, #4 Russell 7  - TLL 3rd Place Game

The Russell K-18 Baseball team competed at the Twin Lakes League Tournament on Friday in Beloit looking to build on their first round win over Beloit Blue earlier this week.

Russell, the #4 seed faced a stiff challenge as they took on top seed Smith Center in the semifinals and Smith Center showed why they had earned the #1 designation as they rolled to a 13-1 victory on Friday afternoon.

Later Friday, Russell fell in the third place game to #3 Beloit Red 9-7.

Russell (5-6) already had been assured a spot in the Regional Tournament and they will be the #4 seed out of the Twin Lakes League at Regionals which begin July 12 in Concordia.

An opponent and starting time have not yet been announced.
