Lady Bronco Track and Field Caps Season with Three Top 5 Finishes at State

Track teams from Russell High School and surrounding area schools wrapped up the 2024 Track and Field season on Friday and Saturday at the State Meet at Wichita's Cessna Stadium.

RUSSELL

The Lady Broncos sent five athletes to the state meet and brought home three top five finishes highlighted by Freshman Kinsey Zorn placing third in the 800-meter run and fifth in the 400-meter run.  Zorn was also part of the 4x800-meter relay team which also included Anna Thielen, Jaden Ney and Kelvie Reeves which placed fourth.  Macy Patterson added another top 10 finish for RHS by placing seventh in the Discus Throw.

VICTORIA

Emma Dinkel set a new school record in the Triple Jump with a leap of 34 feet, 9.5 inches on her way to a seventh place finish.

SYLVAN-LUCAS

Freshman Codie Huehl placed seventh in the 400-meter run.

LINCOLN

Ben Bell finished tied for fourth in the Pole Vault, Bentley Smith placed fifth in the 100-meter dash while Olivia Dail and Xavier Miller placed 10th in the 3,200-meter run and High Jump respectively.

Class 2A Boys: Lincoln: 32nd, State Champion: Moundridge
Class 2A Girls:  Lincoln: 32nd, State Champion: Inman
Class 1A Girls:  Sylvan-Lucas: 47th, Victoria: 49th, State Champion: Washington County
