Lady Bronco Volleyball Splits Season Opening Matches

The Russell Lady Broncos Volleyball team opened the 2026 season on Tuesday, splitting a pair of matches at Amos Morris Gymnasium amid the debut of new head coach Jordan Perez.

Russell dropped its opening match to Phillipsburg in two straight games by scores of 25-13 and 25-21.  The Lady Broncos then picked up their first win of the new campaign going the distance against Ellis for a two games to one victory by scores of 18-25, 25-19 and 25-8.

The Lady Broncos have a quick turnaround as they hit the road for the first time this season on Thursday, September 3 when they make the 17-mile trek to Victoria for a triangular that also includes Larned.  First serve is set for 4 p.m.
