Lady Broncos Softball Swept at Colby

Coming off their first two wins of the season earlier this week against Plainville, the Russell-Victoria Lady Broncos Softball team hit the road for the first time this season on Thursday with a trip to Colby.
The Lady Eagles prevailed in both games by scores of 8-2 and 14-5.
Gracelynn Dinkel took the loss for Russell-Victoria in Game 1, allowing 10 hits while walking six batters and striking out four. Maddie Middleton was the leading batter for the Lady Broncos with two hits. Russell-Victoria took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning but was held scoreless for the remainder of the contest as Colby rallied for the win.
Dinkel also took the loss in the nightcap while five Lady Broncos had one hit apiece.
Russell-Victoria (2-6) will return to action on Tuesday, April 7 with a doubleheader at Ellsworth. First pitch for Game 1 is set for 4 p.m.
