Plainville Completes K-18 State Softball Three-Peat
Plainville captured its third consecutive K-18 State Softball championship by outslugging Osborne 13-10 in the title game on Sunday at the Lucas Ballpark.
Plainville began its run with a 9-4 victory over Oakley on Saturday, then defeated WaKeeney 14-2 in the semifinals before getting by Osborne. Plainville has won half of the state titles in the six K-18 State Softball Tournaments that have been held since the event's inception in 2020.
In Sunday's Third Place game, Lincoln defeated WaKeeney 17-7 and was also awarded the Sportsmanship Trophy.
