RRC Summer Season Underway

The Russell Recreation Commission officially kicked off its summer youth baseball and softball seasons on Thursday, June 3 at the Memorial Park Complex in Russell.

This summer, RRC has 82 regular season games scheduled between seven different leagues.

Those leagues include t-ball, 9-and-under softball and baseball, 12-and-under softball and baseball, 16-and-under baseball and 18-and-under softball.

Many of the teams will compete in the Central Kansas Rec League. Teams will host and travel to games with Claflin, Ellinwood, Ellsworth and Hoisington.

Russell Rec also will host two sanctioned softball tournaments with more than 30 teams scheduled two compete in the one day events. Those tournaments are set for June 19 and July 3.

Games are scheduled through early July.
