Russell K-18 Softball Gains Split with Plainville

The Russell K-18 Fastpitch Softball team played their third and final home doubleheader of the regular season Wednesday evening and ended up splitting the two games with Plainville at Memorial Park,

Plainville took Game 1 13-5 as Tionna Napue started and took the loss.  Haylee Powers and Sydney Kraus both pitched in relief.

In Game 2, Kraus pitched a complete game two-hit shutout as Russell won 7-0.  Wednesday's twinbill was a makeup date for the games that had been postponed from June 23 between the two teams due to rain and high winds.

Russell is now 6-5 on the year and will finish the regular season with two games at Ellsworth on Thursday, June 30.  First pitch for Game 1 is set for 6:30 p.m.
