After seeing weather disrupt their schedule for the last couple of weeks, the Russell K-18 Fastpitch Softball team was finally able to play two games without interruption Tuesday evening.

Their June 21 doubleheader against Osborne ended after one inning in Game 2 after the second weather delay of the evening and their games against Plainville scheduled for June 23 at Memorial Park were washed out.  However, on Tuesday, Russell traveled to Phillipsburg for the second time this month and after splitting the June 9 twinbill, Russell picked two convincing wins this time around.

Russell took Game 1, 1 1-3 behind a complete game in the pitcher's circle by Tionna Napue and won the nightcap 15-6 as Haylee Powers, Sydney Kraus and Hope Lumpkins teamed up to keep Phillipsburg at bay.

Russell improves its record to 5-4 and will play their final home doubleheader of the season this evening when they host Plainville on Field 3 at Memorial Park.  This is the makeup for the June 23 doubleheader that was postponed.  First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

Russell wraps up the regular season on Thursday, June 30 at Ellsworth, meaning that the K-18 Fastpitch team will play three nights in a row.
