Russell Wrestling Club Sending 15 to State
15 members of the Russell Wrestling Club are going to the USAWKS Kids Folkstyle State Tournament in Topeka on March 10, 11 and 12.
Braigan Dinkel (12U/100), Leighton Dinkel (12U/76), Xzander Donner (12U/80), Xzephren Donner (HS/100), Bryson Feil (10U/70), Teagen Pfeifer (HS/165), Abel Sandberg (10U/120), Brayden Suchy (HS/157), Quintin Trevino (12U/120) and Trey Zorn (HS/132) all qualified after finishing in the top four in their age and weight division at the district tournament in Hays on Saturday, March 4.
In the girls divisions, Katherine Driscoll (10U/100), Karsyn Hamlin (12U/105), Skye Knipp (8U/45), Camry Ney (12U/85) and Arianna Weigel (12U/95) also punched their tickets to state by finishing in the top four of their age and weight division at the district tournament in Hays.
Averie Counts and Kinsey Zorn also placed in the top four in the district tournament in Hays to qualify for state, but are not able to attend.
The state tournament will be held at the Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka.
