Russell's Birky Medals at MCL League Tournament

Russell's Cole Birky has been a model of consistency this spring. Seven tournaments. Seven top-10 finishes. He continue that roll Thursday, May 13 at the Mid-Continent League Tournament at the Fort Hays Municipal Course in Hays.

The RHS senior fired an 83 and finished third. Birky was the lone Russell Bronco to play in the tournament. Hoxie's Ashton Dowell took top individual honors with a 74. Parker Krob from Plainville was second with a 76.

Ellis won the team title with a 364 and beat second-place Hoxie by two strokes.

Russell turns its sights now to the Class 3A Regional on Monday, May 17 in Hays, but this time across town at the Smoky Hill Country Club. Tee time is at 9 AM.
