Russell's Evans Signs with Butler CC for Baseball
Russell Bronco senior athlete Max Evans recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play Baseball at Butler Community College in El Dorado.
Evans, who also plays Football for Russell High School, signed with the Grizzlies on November 1 and will play for third-year head coach Ty Reese.
Butler concluded the 2025 season with an overall record of 25-28, including 16-16 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC).
Evans led Russell-Victoria to its first State Tournament appearance since 2016 last spring by compiling a 5-2 record as a pitcher. His finest moment was at the Class 3A Regional final on May 20 in Colby when he shut the Eagles out on their home field with a complete game and hit a three-run homer to put the game out of reach in a 6-0 victory that enabled the Broncos to advance to the Class 3A State Tournament in Manhattan.
Evans will lead a group of seniors who will look to return the Broncos to the State Tournament during the 2026 season.
