RV 19U Baseball Swept, Eliminated at Wild West Fest Tourney

The Russell-Victoria 19 and Under Baseball group's stay at the Wild Fest Tournament in Hays came to an abrupt end on Friday, July 2 with a pair of losses after splitting their first two games the day before.

After defeating Ottawa 13-6 in their opening contest Thursday, July 1, Russell-Victoria fell into the losers bracket with an 8-0 loss later that evening to the Topeka Senators.

Russell-Victoria opened play on Friday with an 11-1 loss to the Hays Eagles and were then eliminated later in the day when Ottawa avenged its opening game loss with a 10-3 decision.  Both games were played at Hays High School.

The Hays Eagles went on to win the tournament defeating Iola 12-4 in the title game on Saturday night at Larks Park.

Russell-Victoria (15-4) is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, July 7 when they host Beloit in a doubleheader at the Shaffer Field Complex.  First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
