Several Area Athletes Receive All-State Recognition from Sports In Kansas

Four Baseball players and one Softball player from area High Schools received all-state honors from the publication Sports in Kansas recently.

Four members of the Russell-Victoria Baseball team, coming off its first trip to the State tournament in nearly a decade were honored by the publication.  Sam Thielen made the Class 3A first team as an outfielder, Mason Rohr received second team honors as a catcher and Max Evans was also named to the second team as a utility player.  Wyatt Griffin received honorable mention.

Harlee Nelson of Sylvan-Lucas received honorable mention on Sports in Kansas' Class 2-1A all-state Softball team.

The Russell-Victoria Baseball team advanced to the Class 3A State Tournament in Manhattan this past May while the Sylvan-Lucas Softball team competed at the Inman Regional Tournament.
