The game was even throughout the first half as the teams were tied 11-11 after one quarter and 22-22 at halftime. The Lady Broncos on the strength of five points by Anna Thielend took a 29-24 lead midway through the third period before Koenigsman heated up and singlehandedly led an 11-0 TMP-Marian run to close the quarter and give the Lady Monarchs a 35-29 advantage.

A three-pointer by Joey Mindrup widened TMP-Marian's lead to 16-4 before Russell closed the half on a 14-1 run capped off by a three-point basket from Ayden Wagner to lead 18-17 at intermission.
