Two Area Wrestlers Ranked in KWCA Preseason Poll
The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has released its preseason rankings for the 2020-21 season and two area wrestlers made the Class 3-2-1A poll.
Russell junior Jacob Windholz starts the year ranked third at 132 pounds. Sylvan-Lucas senior Tra Barrientes is the top ranked wrestler at 285 pounds.
Windholz went 40-9 and took fifth at 132 at state a year ago. Barrientes went 43-1 a year ago and is the defending state champ at 285 pounds.
Hoxie is the top ranked team in 3-2-1A followed by Beloit, Republic Co., Larned and Norton. Osage City is sixth followed by Southeast of Saline, Eureka, Hoisington and Oakley.
