Windholz Notches 100th Career Victory, Broncos Finish 3rd at Alan Dolezal Invite

The Russell High School boys wrestling team hosted its annual Alan Dolezal Invitational on Saturday, December 18 at Amos Morris Gym.

Hays High won the team title with 191.5 points. Chapman was second with 103 points. Russell was third with 97.5 points. Nine teams competed in the invite.

Russell had seven wrestlers compete and all seven finished fourth or better. Jacob Windholz and Tyler Moresco, who are both state ranked by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association, led the way for the Broncos. Windholz went 5-0 and won the 145 pound weight class. His first win of the day was a milestone one for the RHS senior. It was his 100th career victory. Moresco went 3-0 at 195 pounds and took first place. Kohle Nuss went 4-1 and was second at 132. Teagen Pfeifer had a 3-1 mark at 160 and placed second.

Russell is off now until January 7 when they host a dual with Ellinwood at 5pm followed by a tournament in Norton on January 8 at 9:30am.
