Layken and Kierra Eck Find 2024 Blarney Stone

At 3:07 PM on Monday, March 18, Russell Main Street, Inc. received a call that the Blarney Stone had officially been found purposefully tucked away in the airplane of the Russell Play Park. Congratulations to Janella Eck and family on your hunt-and-seek skills.

According to RMSI, the Blarney Stone location was selected this year in order to increase community awareness of the Russell Play Park Renovation Project. The project goal is to build a new one-of-a-kind park. The park will include an accessible and inclusive playground for everyone to enjoy.

The project is currently in the fundraising stage. Upon completion, the project will promote a lifetime of activity for youth in the Russell area. The new park will feature ramped play structures, transfer platforms, inclusive swings, sensory play elements and wheelchair-accessible surfacing.

As you read in this year's clues, there are many activities offered to our community in Memorial Park, the Play Park being one of the focal points. Over the years, the park has become in disrepair, which is why the fundraising project came to life.

RMSI challenges you, the Russell community, to look into the fundraising project, and if possible, make a donation or host a fundraising event to benefit the new park.

RMSI thanks you for participating in the Blarney Stone hunt. A special thank you goes to the local businesses for hosting clues. The purpose of this event is to promote local businesses. They hope you all enjoyed or learned something new about them while seeking clues.
