Natoma Lions Club members and guests recently honored David George and Gail Griffin for 40 years of faithful volunteer service to the community and in leadership positions as presidents and vice presidents.

They were lauded in faithful attendance and work projects by raising funds and sponsoring construction of Natoma community facilities, including the city park shelter and equipment, tennis courts, playground equipment, park benches, library and city digital sign.

They continue helping sponsor the annual community calendar, community pancake supper, Labor Day cookout, Peace Poster Contest for Natoma youth, scholarships to Boys State, Highway Patrol Cadet Academy, Lions Summer Band Camp, Natoma High School college scholarships and continuing education, Natoma school government class trips, Kansas Highway 18 highway clean-up projects, and Lions Sight Foundation in testing eyes, providing eyeglasses and diabetes prevention.

Recent volunteering included helping Natoma citizens following the devastating flood of May 16.

They will be delivering Christmas poinsettias to citizens for the annual Remember the Elderly project.

During the recent Lions Appreciation Banquet, Club President Terry Tucker presented awards to David George and Gail Griffin.
