The Russell County Farm Bureau Scholarships were established in memory of longtime Board Members Randyl Becker and Margaret Denning.

The Russell County Farm Bureau Scholarship originated in the spring of 2007 in honor of longtime Board President Randyl Becker who died of cancer on July 8, 2006. On November 28, 2009, longtime Secretary Margaret Denning died suddenly. Both were committed Farm Bureau Board Members.

Russell County Farm Bureau selected two deserving 2021 Russell High School graduates as recipients who are highly active in school, community and youth organizations, show leadership ability, and are also outstanding academically. They each will receive $500 scholarships.

The first is Kaitlyn Nichols. She is the daughter of Matt and Jessica Nichols and will be attending the University of Kansas. Her intended major is Pre-Medicine Biology.

Kalli Pfeifer will also receive a $500 scholarship. She is the daughter of Jason and Beth Pfeifer. Her intended major is Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Pre-Chiropractic at Fort Hays State University.
