Operation Christmas Child packed a total of 2,132 gift-filled shoeboxes this year in Russell County.

Operation Christmas Child accepts shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items and delivers them around the world to children who are living in the midst of poverty, war, disease or natural disaster.

There were two shoebox drop-off locations in Russell County this year - Bible Baptist Church in Russell and the Paradise United Methodist Church.
