Organizers Preparing for Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner and Need Your Help

A year ago, more than 600 meals were given at the annual Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

That was the most ever in the 42 year history of the event.

The COVID-19 pandemic also caused organizers to change how meals were served.  No in-person meal was offered at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.  Instead, meals were given in two ways – curbside pickup and delivery.

According to co-chair Dannie'll Heaton, meals will be offered in the same fashion this year due to the ongoing pandemic.

Heaton also said they are in need of donations and volunteers in order to make the meal possible.

The Russell Community Thanksgiving Meal will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 25.
