Russell Chamber Recognizes Outstanding Community Members, Businesses at Annual Banquet
The Russell Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards banquet and dinner on Monday, January 23 at Fossil Creek Hotel and Suites Dole-Specter Conference Center in Russell.
The banquet not only recognized outstanding individuals and businesses in the Russell area, but also celebrated a year of growth and service in the community.
The Community Service Award was presented to Andrew Ochampaugh. The Non-Profit Organization Award was given to the Russell Public Library. The Citizen of the Year went to Andrea Garland. The Business of the Year was presented to Meridy's Restaurant, who also catered the meal.
Russell Area Chamber of Commerce Director of Member Services Lisa Moubry served as emcee.
The more than 100 in attendance also learned more about Russell County Leadership and its first ever class members. Bobby Ross was introduced as the new Chamber board president and outgoing Chamber board president Linda Crowder was recognized and gave a yearly report.
