Two Men Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Crash Wednesday in Russell

Two men, one from Russell, were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Russell.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at 11 AM Wednesday, a 2002 Toyota Camry driven by 59-year-old Thomas A. Nelson of LaGrange, Illinois was on the off ramp from eastbound Interstate 70 at US Highway 281 in Russell.

A 2022 Toyota Tacoma driven by 51-year-old Gregory Grant Carey of Russell was northbound on US Highway 281.

The Camry failed to yield at the stop sign at US Highway 281 and the vehicles collided.

Nelson was taken by ambulance to Russell Regional Hospital and Carey was transported by private vehicle to Russell Regional Hospital, both with possible injuries.

Both were buckled up at the time of the crash.
