Two Russell Women Injured Monday in Rollover Crash Just North of Russell

Two Russell women were injured Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle rollover crash just north of Russell.

According to the Russell County Sheriff's Office, at 4:45 PM Monday, a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by 64-year-old Theresa Sullivan of Russell was eastbound on Shoreline Drive near the 184th Boulevard intersection.

For an unknown reason, the vehicle moved north on the roadway, hit a sandbar and rolled into a field on the north side of the road.

A passenger, 59-year-old Annette Sullivan of Russell, was ejected from the vehicle.

Annette was injured and flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita by EagleMed helicopter.

Theresa was injured and transported to Russell Regional Hospital by Russell County EMS.

Annette was not buckled up at the time of the rollover. Theresa was buckled up.

Along with the Russell County Sheriff's Office, Russell County EMS and EagleMed, the City of Russell Fire and Police Departments also responded to the scene.
