USD 407 Steering Committee Meeting 2-21-24

Architects with Schaefer Architecture met with members of the USD 407 Facilities Steering Committee and the public at Russell High School on March 20 to discuss facilities improvement options.

Architects Terry Wiggers and Malcolm Watkins led the discussion. The Steering Committee is co-chaired by Eric Cline, Mandy Trout and Jordan Harrison.

The meeting included members of the committee and several members of the public. Approximately 50 folks were in attendance.

Following a brief introduction and overview of some large recently completed and ongoing USD 407 improvement projects detailed by Superintendent Jordan Perez, to include the bus barn, the welding shop, the CNA program and the baseball field turf, Wiggers and Watkins discussed cost breakdowns of new building and renovation options that were also discussed at the January and February Steering Committee meetings.

They then conducted a mobile survey to get attendees' facilities improvement priorities. The survey results were discussed among the group Wednesday evening, but will be further studied and compiled to review at the next committee meeting in April.

Possible talking points and clarifying the vision of the district and future bond process were also discussed by the group.

The next meeting of the Steering Committee will be held April 17 at 5:30 PM at the Russell High School cafeteria and the public is invited to attend.
